I’m proud to say that a good friend of mine whom I go out on the trails with asked me if they could write up some stories on their adventures in the area.  Naturally, I jumped right on that.  More, quality material is always a good thing and I have no doubt that it will be. Look for some of that soon.

Additionally, I am planning on attending a wilderness survival class in September led by Dave Canterbury. You may have just come to know of him from the new show on Discovery: Dual Survival, but he has been quite a figure in the wilderness survival community for some time now. Honestly, I just learned of him recently from an interview he did with Jack Spirko of The Survival Podcast and in this episode. Regardless, I’m excited and trying my damndest to raise the cash for it.

I’m trying to schedule a hike with some friends. I’m hoping to do the Lake Angeles/Klahhane Ridge/Heather Park loop. A couple Sundays from now, perhaps the 18th, is my target date for it.

For the 4th I’m not sure what the plan is. I’m the type to sit back, relax and watch everyone else run around and wear themselves out. I’ll just try to find a nice comfy spot to watch the show. No stress.
